The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships are the most prestigious scholarships in the UK. These scholarships are sponsored by some famous companies, charitable trusts and personal donors. Eligibility for applying depends on some factors.

Affiliating School:

Affiliation process is simple, quick and free and it will be considered if
1.     The schools have students in year 11 (England and Wales) or S4 (Scotland) or year 12(Northern Ireland) and the students studying GCSEs, Scottish National 5s, BTEC level 2s or equivalent in science or technology, Design, Engineering, Construction, or Mathematics.
2.     STEM strong supporter Head Teacher in the curriculum.
3.     Participating in STEM enrichment activities outside the curriculum.
4.     Encouraging the students to reach their maximum potential.

It also offers to transfer a scholarship between schools. If a student change school, then he can transfer the scholarship to another school.
Application Criteria for Engineering Scholarship:
1.     Applicant’s college must be affiliated to Arkwright Scholarships Trust.
2.     Applicants must be above-mentioned students.
3.     Applicants should show strong practical interest and ability in Engineering.
4.     Applicants must to take ‘A’ level, BTEC level 3s, Scottish higher and advanced higher, IB higher and advanced higher or equivalent examination. Details are in the website.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of 5 stages here.

1.     Student Online Application by a teacher (November to January).

2.     Two hours student aptitude exam in February.

3.     20 minutes interview hosted at a university from March to April.

4.     Meeting Arkwright Standard from May to August.

5.     The scholarships are awarded at a prestigious award ceremony.
